Comfort: Packing supplies repurposed

Published by debcook at 9:21 pm under Living Edit This

I get home in the late afternoon. After a quick dinner I can be found in my home office. Immediately I begin writing.

Have you noticed that your elbows and chin are used a lot when you are tired? Leaning forward while reading Internet research sites puts my elbows in direct contact with my glass desktop. My chin rests in the palm of my hand. Not only is it not ergonomically correct - it is downright uncomfortable.

I have found the solution. Recently I purchased a leather case for my new Sony P series laptop. The packing inside the case was a sheet of dense foam. Bingo, it is a perfect padded surface for my elbows. Ahh! The same packaging can be used for my chin. Amazing what a little padding can do. I’d rather it be in my hand and not on my behind.

My left elbow is all dry and itchy from leaning on it.
