Home Office: AC Adapters labeled are AC Adapters found
An important organizing project that you should take on as soon as possible is to label every charging cable in your entire house – especially in your home/small office (SOHO).
One of the most frustrating puzzle games is matching charging cables to the gadgets they belong to. Maybe it is a game you enjoy but it is not for me. My time is worth too much at any time and when I am in a hurry the value goes even higher. It is important to remember that charging cables are not interchangeable. Even if the tip fits you could seriously damage an electronic device by using the wrong voltage – which is what the charging AC adapter is intended to control. Some of the charging AC adapters that you may own right now:
· Laptops
· Printers
· Scanners
· Cell Phones
· Wireless headsets
· Games
· Game controllers
· Toys
A simple trick that I use is little sticker dots. They stick well, they are small but there is enough room to write and you will not have to play matching games. If you have two laptops – designate which laptop the charger belongs to. The same goes for multiple digital cameras. This tip works for electronic devices and electronic games and toys. The kids need to learn the importance of only plugging the correct charger to the correct gadget. Color-coding helps when small children are involved.
Junk drawers are often home to multiple AC adapters. Labeling each one improves the chance that they will not end up being junk themselves.
