Home Office: CPU warmth saves on my utility bill
My home office is a great place to be on a cold winter day. Not only do I get a lot of work done but also it is the warmest spot in the house.
The computer tray under my desk holds the CPU. The CPU is setting backwards because I like to have the ports facing me. The warm air moving next to me is quite nice and behind me the same is true from my husband’s CPU. He sits his the “normal way” so I also feel the warmth from behind me. I can sit here and be as cozy as can be.
The heat generated by computers need to be taken into consideration when designing a home office. A CPU should always have ample space around it so that the heat can escape. Remember that veneer surfaces can be damaged by continuous heat. Setting a computer CPU inside a bookshelf for example, may not be the best idea.
I save money by working in my home office. It is so warm in here that the heater does not need to run much to keep me comfortable. Benefits can be found in the most unusual places.
