Home Office: Watch television on desktop, laptop or cell phone

Published by debcook under Living Edit This

No Television in your home office? I cannot imagine that but I am sure that there are some out there somewhere.

Televisions can be distracting and none of us need any more distractions. But, there are times that a program could be work related. Financial shows, news reports or weather warnings would qualify.

A Slingbox would be a solution – or an idea of something to try. A Slingbox hooks up between your television and your home Internet Network. This little gadget lets you watch any television show on your computer that you can watch on your television. Watch full screen or not. Change channels with the on-screen remote control. Like a different channel than the rest of the family – no problem – you watch yours and they can watch theirs.

The Slingbox does the same thing when you travel. Boot up your laptop, open the Slingbox software and start watching your television remotely. If you prefer – purchase the Slingbox software for your cell phone.

A Slingbox is a no-brainer for me. I love television so why wouldn’t I love getting a bigger bang for my cable (bill) dollar.
