Home Office: Meeting place for family management

Now more than ever tracking your time is important to maximize productivity. I don’t necessarily mean work productivity although that is definitely important. Productivity at home can affect the entire household so I am focusing my attention there.
Even if you feel unappreciated it can often be your responsibility to help other family members move forward during the day. The kids are tired and distracted so a good lesson in organization may be called for.
Help family members plan their time with a great tool - the family to-do-list. If each member understands his or her placement in the overall plan it is priceless and much can be revealed when they are asked to make their own list.
If there are conflicts between the family to-do-list and little Johnnie’s or little Jane’s list then it opens up the opportunity for conversation. Maybe the one activity that you thought was important is not so much.
Instead of meeting at the dinner table it would be best to meet in the home office. After all, you are trying to run a household. Running a family like a small business has merit. Activities cost time and money so if anyone is feeling slighted this is a good way to successfully argue the point.
