Home Office: Portability and functionality

Portability to many of us is a huge consideration when purchasing small electronics. I am thinking about laptop computers, digital cameras and cell phones in particular. Early mornings are hectic enough without the chore of gathering up and repacking electronic gadgets.
Most evenings I work with several of my gadgets and they get spread out on my desk in my home office. I pull my 11.1″ laptop in its custom leather zippered carry case out of my (bag) purse. My digital camera, flash drives and an external hard drive is tucked into a change purse, an auto door organizer and zipper pockets found in the lining of my bag.
It has taken me a while to design my system but it works pretty well for me so far. I have written in earlier posts on debcook of things that I’d like to change but time is not always on my side.
Making a portable life easier is a give and take proposition. Often style is sacrificed in favor of time saved and functionality.
