Home Sweet Home Office

My home office is a room that is used daily – more than I can say about other rooms in my home. Why is this?

• My favorite glass top desk is here
• My research desktop computer is here
• My husband is usually there

The old small television pooped out last year. To replace it was actually a joy because the new larger flat panel models were less expensive than the original. The television in the family room is still working and did not need to be replaced. The newer 42” fits well in the home office. I bought a cable to connect this television to my computer and it is great when working on large spreadsheets and when doing graphic work.

I love the smooth cool feel of a glass topped desk. The modern look and feel helps motivate me to do my best work. Since my husband does a lot of work in here too he has a matching desk.

My desktop computer is always on. It is handy first thing in the morning to check news, weather and webmail. I also do internet research on it while actually writing on my laptop. I am not here enough throughout the day so my laptop is my mobile version of my home office.

My husband likes to be where I am. He has his own desktop computer and when he is not working he spends a lot of time keeping up with distant family members and business acquaintances. He has also been known to play a couple of online MMORPGs.

Home office design and functionality is one of my favorite subjects. Organization is a huge part of using a home office to its full potential so I will be talking a lot about that in the future.
