DIY: Gadget Station made from Packaging Material

I have yet to find a gadget charging station that I like or that would fit into my space. Most is too bulky for my desktop and honestly what I need is a soft spot for my gadgets.

My cell phone is left on day and night. I am concerned that sometime during the night my iPhone may ring and the vibration may inch it off my glass desktop. My other concern is that I will forget to pick up one of my gadgets when leaving the house while rushing out of the door.

My solution – is a simple piece of packing Styrofoam. You can see from the photo that the bright white background is in contrast with my gadgets. It would be very unlikely that anything would blend in so much that I would miss it. The surface is soft so any sound during the night would be muffled. When not needed the Styrofoam is light weight and can be laid off to the side of the desk with no problem.

Until something better reveals itself my gadget charging station is going to stay in my office. May be simple and plain but it suits my need perfectly.
